about the Author

My name is Fraser, I am the author of all the content you will see on this website. For a bit of background on me, I started playing guitar at the age of 8 after falling in love with Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged set. I think it is safe to say that performance had a significant impact on me.

I  have been playing guitar for 16 years now and throughout my time have stayed deeply in love with all things alternative rock, hence the website.

So why do I think I am qualified to give my verdict on this genre then? Well… for starters I have been in numerous alternative rock bands, the main being my university band Just Suppose, which saw me headline numerous shows and sell-out multiple venues.

I have also studied music throughout my life. I achieved my grade 8 in guitar, and followed this up with a degree in music at university. I have since been working for a music retail company.

So why did I decide to start a website?

I think my guitar needed a clean

About the Website

I started this website for a few reasons.

My first was that I wanted somewhere to be creative. During recent years my creative production had kind of fallen off a cliff, so my solution to this was to channel my creativity into a website.

Secondly, there are a lot of guitar websites where you can get opinions on classic rock and pop music, and I wanted to create one for those who are like-minded. I want to create a resource for those who listen to indie and alternative rock to find inspiration, be that for listening, learning the guitar, or even just for something to read.

Thirdly, I want to use this website to prove to myself I am capable of following through on my ideas to completion, while also giving me opportunities to learn along the way. Harnessing my guitar playing, developing my writing, and learning the tricks of managing websites.

So when you peruse this website there’s only really one thing I want you to do, and that is just enjoy!

So strap in and get ready for some alt-rock guitar lessons, indie history deep dives, and alternative guides.

Enjoy!
